Common Questions Regarding Jail Notary Services

Do you go to all jails in Metro Atlanta?

Yes, we provide mobile notary services to all major county jails and detention centers throughout the Metro Atlanta area, including Fulton, DeKalb, Gwinnett, Cobb, and Forsyth counties. We coordinate directly with families to ensure we follow each facility's unique security protocols.

What information do you need about the inmate and facility?

To efficiently book a visit, we require the inmate's full legal name, their booking ID number, and the specific facility location. It is also helpful to know the type of document needing notarization so we can verify if the facility has specific requirements for that legal matter.

How long does a jail notary visit take?

While the actual notarization is often quite fast, the total time for the visit depends on facility check-in speeds and security procedures. We manage the logistical coordination, but we must adhere strictly to the institution's institutional schedule and inmate movement times.

Can you notarize without the inmate present or if they refused?

No. For a notarization to be valid, the signer must be physically present and demonstrate they are signing the document of their own free will. If an inmate refuses to sign or is unavailable at the time of the visit, the notarization cannot be completed and fees for the visit still apply.

What if the facility cancels or reschedules?

Jail facilities may cancel visits at any time due to lockdowns, inmate court dates, or administrative changes. If the facility postponed the visit, we will work with you to finalize a new time as soon as possible. Please note that cancellation fees may apply if we are already at the facility.
